Eugene Smiley, born on January 12, 1944, in New Orleans, is a talented musician who has lived in New Orleans, Kansas City, and Brookhaven, Mississippi. After moving to Chicago post-high school and spending time at Motown, he signed with Brunswick as part of the group The Visitors, alongside Darrell Penrays, Wilbert Taylor, and Ray Foreman. In the early 1970s, Eugene left Chicago to re-establish himself in Kansas City, although he continued to tour. Throughout his career, Smiley has shared the stage with notable artists such as Johnnie Taylor, Al Green, Rufus Thomas, Bobby Womack, Albert King, and many others. He is a co-founder, lead vocalist, and lead guitarist of the "Mighty BWB Show Band" and toured with Brody Buster from 1995 to 1997. Additionally, he formed the four-piece Eugene Smiley Blues Band and the eight-piece ESB Show Band. Eugene's son also performs and records blues music in the Kansas City area.
