Even as We Speak is an indie band from Sydney, Australia, formed in the mid-1980s. They gained recognition through a series of vinyl releases on Australian independent labels. Their music caught the attention of a BBC Radio 1 DJ, who began playing their Phantom Records release on his show, which helped them reach UK audiences and led to a relationship with a UK label.
