Excepter is an American psychedelic experimental electronic folk rock band that emerged from the Brooklyn noise scene in the 2000s. Fronted by John Fell Ryan, a former member of No-Neck Blues Band, Excepter features a fluid lineup and boasts a dense discography characterized by a notoriously elusive sound. The band has released music on labels such as Blast First Petite, Paw Tracks, Kill Rock Stars, and Load, and is currently based in Hudson Valley, NY.
