Executive Suite is a Philadelphia-based quartet formed in 1970, consisting of members Vincent Unto, Henry Tuten, William Tyler, and Charles Conyers, all of whom have deep roots in the Philadelphia music scene. Prior to forming the band, Tyler and Tuten were part of a group on Castle Records, while Tyler also sang with the Jewels and Conyers with the Lovenotes. Their debut single on Jubilee Records, "Christine/Mother Nature," featured the contributions of a young Daryl Hall, who co-wrote the song and provided background vocals, although it did not chart. In 1972, Executive Suite signed with Babylon Records and recorded at Sigma Sound Studios, where they collaborated with producers Bunny Sigler, Bobby Eli, Norman Harris, and Phil Hurtt. Their first single with Babylon, "I'm A Winner Now," became a local hit that year, followed by additional singles including "You Believed In Me," "Your Love Is Paradise/I'm Leaving This Time," and "When The Fuel Runs Out," the last of which had a disco influence and was released in 1974. Polydor Records subsequently released a collectible LP titled "Executive Suite 1," featuring five songs that included vocal and instrumental versions of their hits. However, the group faced challenges with promotion, and their 1975 release "Hey Pearl" for United Artists, lacking the support of Sigma Sound Studios, did not chart.
