Expelaires is a Leeds-based band formed in 1978, originally consisting of members who would later join other notable acts, including The Mission. The lineup featured Paul "Grape" Gregory on vocals, David "Wolfie" Wolfenden on guitar, Craig on guitar/keyboards, an unnamed bassist, and Carl "Tich" Harper on drums. They gained attention by supporting bands like The Teardrop Explodes and signed a one-single deal for "about £400." Their debut single, "To See You," was released in September 1979. Following their initial success, they recorded a session for a radio show, which included four tracks: "Nasty Media," "It's Alright Mother," "Frequency," and "The Dashboard (killed me)." However, after limited success with their first single, members began to leave; Copson quit and was replaced by another musician, and Craig departed shortly after the release of their second single, "Sympathy," in January 1980. This song later appeared on the compilation "Hicks From The Sticks." After a long hiatus, the band reformed in 2012 for the F-Club's 35th reunion and decided to continue performing. In 2014, they released their first recordings in over 30 years with the EP "Sick Of Lies." They are currently working on recording "The Lost" punk album and continue to play live concerts. The current lineup includes Paul "Grape" Gregory
