Faithless is a British electronic band formed in London in 1994. Known for their contributions to conscious rap and music production, the group was originally comprised of members Maxi Jazz (who passed away on December 23, 2022), Sister Bliss, and producer Roland Armstrong. Maxi Jazz was the lead vocalist for many of their songs but left after the release of their second album, "Sunday 8PM." The group welcomed a new member for the album "Outrospective." Their debut album, "Reverence," released in 1996, was an underground sensation but did not achieve mainstream success. However, their 1998 album "Sunday 8AM" propelled them into the spotlight, with the single "God Is a DJ" becoming a major club anthem and the album achieving significant sales. Despite mixed critical reception, the group continued to thrive, with members also pursuing solo careers. When performing live, Faithless was joined by a guitarist and bassist. Some of the original members, including Sister Bliss, Maxi Jazz, and percussionist Sudha Kheterpal, continue to perform under the name Faithless Sound System.
