Fan Club Orchestra (FCO) originated from collaborative performances and recordings that began in the late nineties in Brussels and continued into the second decade of the new millennium across Belgium and neighboring countries. At a time when large contemporary arts spaces were less professionalized and more aligned with their DIY roots, FCO nurtured a diverse cast of players, utilizing an unconventional ensemble of instruments. Their performances, characterized by apparent informality and spectacle, brought the experimentalism of New York's downtown scene from the 1960s into the era of new media art. The newly regrouped FCO presents their album 'VL_Stay' on 12th Isle, featuring Baudoux, Ann Appermans on guitar and bass, and Zéphyr Zijlstra on trumpet. Appermans, an original FCO member, frequently collaborates with Baudoux, while Zijlstra is a jazz student at the Royal Conservatoire of Brussels. Recorded in just two weeks, this trio invokes the essence of FCO's early work while integrating new influences.
