Faron Young was an American country music singer, guitarist, and songwriter, active from the early 1950s into the mid-1980s. Born on February 25, 1932, in Shreveport, Louisiana, he gained fame for hits such as "If You Ain't Lovin' (You Ain't Livin')" and "Live Fast, Love Hard, Die Young," which established him as a prominent honky-tonk artist known for his distinctive sound and personal style. Nicknamed the "Hillbilly Heartthrob" and later referred to as the "Young Sheriff" following a movie role, Young's singles consistently charted for over 30 years. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame but tragically committed suicide on December 10, 1996, in Nashville, Tennessee.
