Fernanda Abreu is a Brazilian pop singer born on September 8, 1961. She began her career as a backing vocalist in a band from 1982 to 1986. In 1990, she launched her solo career, drawing influences from dance-pop, synthpop, hip hop, funk, and funk carioca, a genre she played a significant role in popularizing. Some of her most famous songs include "Rio 40 Graus," "Katia Flávia," "Speed Racer," "Um Amor, Um Lugar," "À Noite," "Você pra Mim," and "Garota Sangue Bom." Fernanda is recognized as a pioneer of Brazilian funk music and is often referred to as the "funk queen" in Brazil.
