FFWD is a collaboration between Robert Fripp, Thomas Fehlmann, Mark Weston, and D.A.R. Paterson, with Fripp being a founding member of King Crimson. The other three members were part of The Orb, although Weston would soon leave the group. The name FFWD and the title of their album are derived from the initials of the four members and reference the "fast forward" function on cassette and compact disc players. The album reached #48 on the UK Albums Chart in August 1994.
