Fields of the Nephilim is a distinctive goth rock band formed in 1984 in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, UK. They are known for incorporating psychedelic and progressive elements into their music until their split in 1991. Following the breakup, vocalist Carl McCoy pursued a solo project, while the remaining members embarked on new ventures. In 1998, rumors of a reunion surfaced but did not materialize. In 2002, Jungle Records released several recordings without McCoy's consent, prompting him to regroup and eventually produce the album "Mourning Sun" in 2005. Over the years, the lineup of Fields of the Nephilim has changed several times, with McCoy remaining a constant presence. The band has seen various members come and go, including Tony Pettit, Paul Wright, and Nod Wright, among others. As of 2017, the band consists of Carl McCoy, Tony Pettitt, Gavin King, Lee Newell, and Adam Leach.
