Final is an industrial/experimental project from Birmingham, UK, originally active from 1984 to 1986. The project began as a power electronics endeavor in 1982 under a different name on their own cassette label, changing to Final shortly after in 1983. They performed their first live show on July 7, 1984, at The Mermaid in Birmingham. The lineup during its early years saw numerous changes, featuring musicians such as Philip Timms, Daniel Johnson, Paul Neville, Nicholas Bullen, Graham Robertson, and Guy Pearce. The band disbanded in 1986. After a hiatus, Final was revived in 1993 as Justin K. Broadrick's solo project, releasing experimental sounds loosely categorized as ambient, with occasional contributions from Ben Green and Diarmuid Dalton. In 2006, Final became active again, with more frequent collaboration from Diarmuid Dalton, and has since become one of Broadrick's most prolific projects.
