First Circle was a vocal funk quintet formed in the mid-1980s. They gained attention when their debut single, “Workin' up a Sweat,” began to chart on the American dance charts, reaching #49 on the R&B charts in spring 1987. However, they faced a name change due to a legal complaint from another group called "Full Circle," a Boston jazz outfit. Under the guidance of Randy Muller, First Circle released their LP “Boys' Night Out” on EMI America in April 1987. The album included follow-up singles such as “Can't Find a Love,” which, like their debut, became a post-release collectible. Despite this brief period of success, the group disbanded shortly thereafter.
