Five Day Week Straw People were a British musical duo consisting of Guy Mascolo and David Montague. They released a rare album in late 1967, which came out in 1968 under the budget Saga label. The album features ten songs that are loosely centered around the theme of a typical weekend in the lives of ordinary working British people. For the recording, they were accompanied by guitarist John Du Cann, bassist Mick Hawksworth, and drummer Jack McCulloch, each paid a fee of 25 pounds. Remarkably, the album was recorded in about four hours in a London schoolroom, despite McCulloch not having heard any of the songs prior to the session.
