Flying Saucer Attack is an experimental space rock band that originated in Bristol, England, in 1992. The core member of the group is David Pearce, with Rachel Brook, a member of another Bristol band, contributing for most of the band's duration. Known for their quiet vocals and layers of feedback, their sound draws parallels to contemporary shoegazing bands and The Jesus and Mary Chain. Despite their experimental nature, Flying Saucer Attack cultivated a small yet passionate fanbase, establishing themselves as one of the more notable experimental bands of their time. They are distinguished by their preference for recording most of their music at home using a standard home stereo system, avoiding traditional recording studios to maintain a DIY aesthetic and the freedom to explore their sound.
