Fockewulf 190 was an Italian electro wave duo formed in 1980 in Milan by Vittorio Barozzi, also known as Victor Life, and Dario Dell'Aere. The duo's collaboration began when they met outside a cinema in 1979, leading to various projects including Diamond Dogs, Ice Eyes, Demode Boulevard, and ultimately Fockewulf 190, named after Dario's passion for building model jet planes. Musically influenced by the Human League’s “Reproduction” and John Foxx’s “Metamatic,” they drew visual inspiration from New Romantics like Visage and Ultravox, creating a unique blend of Italo disco and New Wave. In 1983, guitarist Salvatore Nonnis, known as Stan After, joined the group. The band sought a producer and connected with Giuseppe Mincioni of Market Records, who worked with local DJs at the Taxi Club. Mincioni introduced them to the Italo Disco production team of Miki Chieregato and Roberto Turatti. After Dario presented a demo called “Walking Out,” Turatti felt the vocals were not commercial enough and suggested vocalist Fred Ventura, who then wrote politically inspired lyrics reflecting the tensions of the Cold War and street violence. The duo's debut single, “Body Heat,” was released in 1984 on Market Records, although it was misspelled as Fokewulf and incorrectly credited Dario with the vocals. They later recorded an album
