Forward Music Quintet is a New Wave/Darkwave band formed in 1981 in Athens, Greece. The band was initiated by former Parthenogenesis members, bassist Yorgos "Shman" Makridis and vocalist Takis "Or" Polychronopoulos, along with their girlfriends Natassa "Streuberg" Syregela on keyboards and Katerina "Elle" Perpinia on guitar. Nikos "" Samiotakis, previously of Homicide, completed the lineup on drums. In September 1982, Forward Music Quintet supported New Order at a concert at Sporting Stadium and toured with T.V.C. across 10 cities in Greece that same year. Their debut album, "The Mystery Of A Dying Species," was released in 1983, followed by their second album, "Glory & Betrayal," in 1985. This second album was produced without Polychronopoulos and Perpinia, who had departed from the band, although Tom Bouzianis contributed guitar on two tracks. After the release of their second album, the band became less active, but in 1991, Syregela and Makridis, now a duo, released a third album titled "Vanishing Soldiers." Following the band's breakup, the duo transitioned to work on film translations.
