FOVEA HEX is an experimental progressive electronic group led by Irish musician Clodagh Simonds. She initially formed the folk group Mellow Candle in the 1960s, which experienced a long period of inactivity until the 1990s when she established FOVEA HEX. During this time, she was also active in her solo career and collaborated with various artists, including Mike Oldfield on his albums Hergest Ridge, Ommadawn, and Amarok. FOVEA HEX creates ambient and electronic music infused with pop and folk sensibilities, having released one album and several extended plays to date. The group features musicians Laura Sheeran, Cora Venus Lunny, Michael Begg, and Colin Potter (from Nurse With Wound), along with several regular contributors on instruments such as violins and cellos. Notable guest musicians who have contributed to FOVEA HEX include Roger and Brian Eno, Robert Fripp, and Steven Wilson.
