Francis Rimbert is a French keyboardist and composer born on October 3, 1953, in Val D'Oise, France. He began playing the piano at the age of five and later took up the accordion. By age seven, he was playing the harmonium in church. Rimbert studied at the Paris Conservatory but found the classical music environment unappealing. At 14, he formed his first band, which he ultimately left due to dissatisfaction. He later co-founded a group called FanChris with a folk singer/songwriter. In 1978, Rimbert began working at a music shop in Paris that specialized in synthesizers, where he started rehearsing on various synths. His career took off when his boss offered him the opportunity to record an album titled "Bionic Orchestra," prompting him to leave FanChris. He later established a company and label and frequently collaborated with other artists.
