Frank Adorno, known by his stage name "Frankie Adams," was a notable figure in the music industry during the early to mid-1940s. Originally from Philadelphia, PA, he adopted the pen name "Frankie Adams" to avoid potential discrimination associated with his Italian surname. In late 1954, Frank and his wife, Delores, moved to New Orleans, Louisiana, where he rebranded and registered his record label as Sapphire Record Company on January 21, 1955. During this time, Frank collaborated with fellow musicians and lyricists, co-writing the famous hit song “Mardi Gras Mambo,” which has become an anthem for New Orleans Mardi Gras celebrations. He is also remembered for his Christmas song, “I’m Gonna Lasso Santa Claus,” famously performed by Brenda Lee. Tragically, Frank's rising career was cut short when he was diagnosed with rectal cancer, leading to his death on October 23, 1956. After his passing, his eldest daughter, Rose (Adorno) Logan, took responsibility for preserving his musical legacy, including original music sheets and collaborative works. She entrusted one of the family's heirlooms to her niece, Frances (Squillace) Urso, who shares Frank's love for music and has become the family matriarch.
