Frankie Bones is an influential American DJ and producer known for his significant role in popularizing techno in Europe. Born in 1966, he began his career in Brooklyn, NYC, after working for four months at a pressing plant and in A&R for a label in 1987. His big break came when he became a DJ at the "Energy" raves in the UK. During the 1980s and '90s, Bones emerged as a prominent figure in New York's independent techno scene, recognized for his extensive club appearances and a prolific mix-album schedule, releasing nearly three albums per year. He began producing music in 1987 as part of the duo Musto & Bones, creating notable remixes and tracks for Nu Groove Records. Their 1990 album, "The Future Is Ours," featured the hit single "All I Want to Do Is Get Away." After parting ways with Musto, Bones gained international recognition as a DJ in the early '90s, earning a reputation as one of the leading figures in house music through his remix work. He released numerous CDs in the mid-to-late '90s, including volumes in the mix-album series "Factory" and "Computer Controlled," as well as his own production work on the 1998 house chronicle "Technolo-G."
