Frankie Ford, born Frank Guzzo on August 4, 1939, in Gretna, Louisiana, was an influential American rock and roll and rhythm and blues singer. He was the adopted son of Vincent and Anna Guzzo. Ford gained fame with his 1959 Top 20 hit "Sea Cruise," which was released on Ace Records and sold over one million copies, earning gold disc status. He was recognized as a prominent singer from New Orleans and was featured on the Southern Stars poster created by Dianna Chenevert, which documented his contributions to the music industry. On October 12, 1983, USA Today highlighted him as a notable entertainer, enhancing his nationwide recognition. Known as the "New Orleans Dynamo," Ford performed extensively, spending around 200 days a year on the road well into his 70s. He was inducted into The Louisiana Music Hall of Fame on May 16, 2010, during the Louisiana Music Homecoming in Erwinville. Frankie Ford passed away on September 28, 2015, in Gretna, Louisiana.
