Frankie Laine was an American singer, composer, and author, often recognized as America's Number One Song Stylist, Mr. Rhythm, Old Leather Lungs, and Old Man Jazz. He was born on March 30, 1913, in Chicago, Illinois, to Sicilian immigrants John and Anna Lo Vecchio. Laine was the oldest of eight children and grew up in Chicago's Little Italy. He was married to a fellow singer from 1950 until their divorce in 1993. Laine also founded a short-lived record label. He passed away on February 6, 2007, in San Diego, California.
