Franz Schubert was an Austrian composer born on January 31, 1797, in Himmelpfortgrund, now part of Vienna, Austria. He passed away on November 19, 1828, in Widen, also in Vienna. Despite his brief life, Schubert produced a significant body of work, including over 600 secular vocal pieces, primarily lieder, seven complete symphonies, sacred music, operas, incidental music, and a substantial amount of piano and chamber music.
