Freddie Chavez, hailing from Albuquerque, New Mexico, is known for his 1968 masterpiece "They'll Never Know Why," recorded for Look Records, a division of Starday based in Nashville. Although the song made little impact in the United States, it gained significant popularity on the Northern Soul Scene, particularly at the Wigan Casino and various venues across the UK.
