Freddie Hart was an American country musician and songwriter, born on December 21, 1926, in Loachapoka, Alabama. He passed away on October 27, 2018, in Burbank, California. Hart was inducted into the Alabama Music Hall of Fame in 2001 and the America's Old Time Country Music Hall of Fame in 2005. He was a member of the Town Hall Party and is best known for his hit song "Easy Loving," which won the Country Music Association Song of the Year award in 1971 and 1972. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Marines. In 1950, he moved to Phoenix and worked with Lefty Frizzell from 1951 to 1952. Hart also appeared on the Home Town Jamboree TV series. Later in life, he operated a trucking company and a school for handicapped children in Burbank, California. Throughout his career, he achieved six #1 country hits.
