Freddy Fender

Freddy Fender was a Tejano, Tex-Mex, and swamp-pop singer and songwriter, born on June 4, 1937, in San Benito, Texas. He passed away on October 14, 2006, in Corpus Christi, Texas. In addition to his music career, he acted in the movie "The Milagro Beanfield War" and joined The Texas Tornados in 1990. In 2002, he underwent a kidney transplant, which was donated by his daughter.
