Friedrich Gulda was an Austrian pianist and composer, born on May 16, 1930, in Vienna, Austria. He passed away on January 27, 2000, in Weißenbach am Attersee, Austria. Gulda was the father of two children, one born on October 25, 1961, and the other on April 9, 1968, the latter from his marriage to Yuko Wakiyama.
