Fruko y sus Tesos is a renowned salsa group from Colombia, formed in 1970 by Julio Ernesto Estrada, known as "Fruko." The group is modeled after the New York City salsa sound of the Fania All-Stars and has gained immense popularity throughout Latin America and the United States. They are celebrated by salsa and Latin soul deejays worldwide and are considered one of Colombia's most significant musical exports. Among their well-known hits are "Barranquillero Arrebatao," "Cachondea," "Cali De Rumba," "Charanga Campesina," "El Patillero," "Los Charcos," "Pura Candela," "Tania," and "El Preso," the latter being one of the most popular songs in Colombia. Prominent former members include a lead vocalist who joined in 1973 and later pursued a solo career, as well as Wilson "Saoko" Manyoma, who provided lead vocals on key tracks like "El Preso" before also embarking on a solo career.
