Frunk29, whose real name is Marat Shainsky, is a notable figure in the Russian technology and music scene. He was born in Astrakhan and studied piano for three years at a music school. Initially, he played guitar in a grunge band and became one of the first DJs at a local club, eventually ranking among the top five DJs in the city. In 2001, he moved to Moscow, where he collaborated with DJ Stankov on deep techno and the project “tout a’coup.” This period also saw the release of tracks on collections like “illusion noises” and with DJ Panina. Frunk29 became a resident DJ at Sunday parties in the DJ café “Garden-mazhorel” and developed a solo project focused on glitch and jazz sounds. He produced remixes for Russian techno musicians, including Modul-Sleeppy Giga and Vadim Lankov’s “Afterdark.” He has released music through various labels such as Electronica, Biotronica, and Indeks Rec, and has performed live and DJ sets in numerous clubs across Moscow, Minsk, Great Novgorod, and Astrakhan. As a techno producer, Frunk29 has released music on labels like Indeks Music, Electronica, and Biotronica, and has remixed tracks for artists such as Modul, Vadim Lankov, and E-teb.
