Fumaça Preta is a genre-defying project led by Portuguese-Venezuelan producer and drummer Alex Figueira, blending psychedelic tropicalia, Afro-Latin rhythms, funk, and fuzzed-out rock with unpredictable intensity. Formed with collaborators from the European underground scene, the band channels the raw energy of 1970s Brazilian psych and avant-garde experimentation into modern, explosive performances. Their self-titled debut (2014) and acclaimed follow-up *Impuros Fanáticos* (2016) captured widespread international attention for their fearless fusion of sounds and boundary-pushing approach to Latin psychedelia.
