Funkdoobiest is a Latin Hip Hop group hailing from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1989. Initially known as Ralph M and Son, the group consisted of Ralph M, DJ Muggs, Sen Dog, B-Real, Son Doobie, and T-Funk. The name Funkdoobiest was adopted in 1991, inspired by a song titled "The Funkdoobiest" written by B-Real of Cypress Hill. In an interview, Ralph M recalled, "So one day Muggs and myself were rollin' around in L.A. and I said 'yo, we the Funkdoobiest: Ralph M., Son Doobie, Tomahawk Funk.' And it's been history since... that name was too dope to just be a song." Tomahawk Funk, also known as T-Funk, departed from the group after their second album, "Brothas Doobie," but later rejoined for the album "The Golden B-Boys" in 2009. The current members of Funkdoobiest include Jason Vasquez (Son Doobie), Ralph Medrano (DJ Ralph M), and Tyrone Pacheco (Tomahawk Funk).
