Future World Orchestra is a musical project founded in 1980 by Robert Pot and Gerto Heupink, both of whom have a keen interest in synthesizer technology. After several months of private experimentation, they approached Dureco, a leading Dutch record company, to release their music. Their first recording session produced tracks such as "Desire," "I'm Not Afraid of the Future," "Airborne," and "Casablanca Nights." "Desire" was released as their first single in October 1981 and quickly became a hit in the Netherlands, garnering interest across Europe. Following this success, they promoted their music in Italy and Spain. In 1982, they released their LP album "Mission Completed," followed by "Turning Point" in 1983, which included tracks like "Theme from E.T." and "Roulette," the latter becoming the radio finish tune for the "Tour de France" in 1983. However, in 1985, Robert and Gerto parted ways musically due to differing visions and opinions about their future direction, though they have remained good friends since. Robert Pot released "The Hidden Files" in 2000, featuring only instrumental tracks. In April 2010, he released "Regenerated," an album that includes newly recorded and produced versions of classic Future World Orchestra tracks.
