Gabi Delgado (18 April 1958 - 22 March 2020) was a Spanish-born, mainly Germany-based musician, composer, lyricist, and music producer. He spent his childhood in Córdoba, Spain, before moving to Germany in 1966. Delgado was a key figure in the Rhine and Ruhr area punk scene and contributed to the first German punk fanzine "The Ostrich." He was briefly a member of a punk band, primarily as a dancer, and later became a founding member of Deutsch Amerikanische Freundschaft (DAF) in 1978. After relocating to London in 1980, DAF broke up just before the release of "Für Immer" in 1982. Delgado released his first solo album, "Mistress," in 1983. The band reunited in 1986, releasing "1st Step to Heaven." Around this time, Delgado moved to Berlin and became involved in the early house and techno music scene, organizing what is known as the first house music party in Germany. He later teamed up with others to form a sexually charged dance duo and established several music labels. In 1996, Delgado and a collaborator launched a project that built on DAF's legacy while incorporating contemporary dance music themes.
