Gabriel Almași was born in Arad in 1977. He graduated from the West University of Timișoara, Faculty of Music, specializing in Music Pedagogy (1996-2001), and also attended Remus Georgescu’s course in Music Composition. He furthered his studies in composition for four years at the National University of Music Bucharest under Prof. Dan Dediu (2002-2006) and collaborated with notable musicians such as Aurel Stroe, Ștefan Niculescu, Doina Rotaru, Michael Obst, Ari Ben-Shabetai, Kevin Ernste (Cornell University, New York), and Gregory Mertl (Syracuse University, New York). Gabriel is a founding member of the cultural association "Propuls" and has been a member of the Union of Composers and Musicologists of Romania since 2011. His compositional work includes pieces for solo instruments, orchestral music, and electroacoustic compositions.
