Gabrielle is a British RnB and soul singer/songwriter born on May 16, 1970, in Hackney, London. She made her mark in the music industry with her debut single "Dreams," which topped the UK Singles Chart in 1993. After a period of relative quiet, Gabrielle made a successful comeback with "Rise," her second UK number one hit, in 2000. The album "Rise" also reached the top of the UK Albums Chart, where it remained for three weeks. Additionally, her song "Out of Reach," featured in the film Bridget Jones's Diary, peaked at number four on the UK Singles Chart.
