Gang Green is a hardcore punk band hailing from Boston, Massachusetts, formed in 1980 by Chris Doherty, Mike Dean, and Bill Manley. The band initially broke up in 1984 but reformed a year later with a new lineup that included Doherty, Chuck Stilphen, Glen Stilphen, and Walter Gustafson. In 1987, Gang Green signed to a label, featuring Doherty, Fritz Erickson, Joe Gittleman, and Brian Betzger, but broke up again in 1990. The band reformed in 1996 with the lineup of Chris Doherty, Chuck Stilphen, Glen Stilphen, and Walter Gustafson. After a few years of sparse activity, Doherty moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, in 2000. In 2009, Gang Green reformed again, this time with Cincinnati musicians Chris Donnelly, Dusty Bryant, and Troy Bryant. The current lineup includes Chris Doherty on vocals and guitar, Chuck Stilphen on guitar, Walter Gustafson on drums, and Glen Stilphen on bass and vocals. Over the years, the band has seen numerous former members, including various guitarists, bassists, and drummers, contributing to its evolving sound and style.
