Gant-Man, born Gant Garrard in 1979, is an American DJ, producer, and emcee from Chicago. Introduced to mixing by his older brother in the early 1980s, he began learning the art of counting beats and blending records at the age of 5, influenced by hip hop, New York garage, Chicago house, electronic, and disco music. At just 10 years old, Gant started mixing on the college radio station WKKC 89.3 FM in Chicago, where he continued to showcase his talent until 1997. By 15, he produced his first EP for Dance Mania titled "It's About Time," which featured the Chicago Underground hit "3 Blind Mice," inspired by the theme music from The Three Stooges. Gant earned the reputation of being the youngest professional DJ in Chicago and is recognized as one of the key innovators of Ghetto Juke House. At 18, he began touring the U.S. and Europe, playing at notable venues such as Le Queen and Gibus in Paris, and participating in the Lake Parade in Geneva. His Summer 2000 residency in Ibiza at El Divino alongside Paul Johnson and DJ Skip marked a significant milestone in his career.
