Gene Anderson is an R&B singer, songwriter, and producer born in St. Louis, Missouri. He began his career at the age of 12 by appearing on Russ Carter's "St. Louis Hop" at KSD-TV in St. Louis. During this time, he also contributed backing vocals on tracks by Ike Turner. In his teens, Gene co-founded a record label and continued to record and perform as a solo artist and band leader. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with notable artists such as Kurtis Blow, Sugar Hill Gang, Snoop Dogg, Eric Clapton, Isaac Hayes, and Ann Peebles. Gene was nominated for a Grammy Award for a song he wrote for Albert King titled "Love In The Food Stamp Line."
