Gene Page was an American pianist, arranger, composer, conductor, and record producer, born on September 13, 1939, in Los Angeles, California. He passed away on August 24, 1998, in Westwood, Los Angeles. Page was known for his appealing orchestrations, which became a hallmark of numerous million-selling hits for various artists, including Barry White, Motown acts, Johnny Mathis, Deniece Williams, Whitney Houston, Peaches & Herb, Kenny Rogers, the Righteous Brothers, Aretha Franklin, Elton John, the Whispers, and Gladys Knight, among others. He arranged the majority of Johnny Mathis' LPs during the 1970s and 1980s, with "Feelings" being one of the standout tracks. Page also scored music for television shows and films. His early successes included arranging "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'" for The Righteous Brothers and "The In Crowd" for Dobie Gray, along with hits for The Drifters, The Mamas & The Papas, Barbra Streisand, and Solomon Burke’s "Got to Get You off My Mind," which topped the R&B charts for three weeks in early 1965.
