Gene Vincent was an American musician born on February 11, 1935, in Norfolk, Virginia. He passed away on October 12, 1971, in Newhall, California. Vincent was a pioneer of rock and roll and rockabilly music, with his 1956 hit "Be-Bop-a-Lula" recognized as a significant early example of rockabilly. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998 and the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. He is also noted as the father of an unnamed individual.
