General Echo, known for his unique style, rose to prominence as one of the first DJs to focus on slackness rather than roots and culture. Tragically, on November 22nd, 1980, he was shot down by Kingston police along with two members of his Echo Tone Hi-Fi crew, Fluxy and Big John.
