Gentle Despite was a band signed to Sarah Records, formed by childhood friends Simon Westwood and Paul Gorton. The group included additional members from the local area and was active in the Leeds music scene from the late 1980s to the early 1990s. They regularly performed alongside other acts, including Pale Saints.
