Geordie is a hard/glam rock band from Newcastle upon Tyne, North East England, formed in 1971 under the name U.S.A. The band changed its name to Geordie in 1972 and had a stable lineup from 1971 to 1975, consisting of vocalist, main songwriter and guitarist, bass guitarist, and drummer. During this period, they released two albums in 1973 and 1974, achieving significant success with five singles charting in various European countries. In 1975, the original guitarist Vic Malcolm left the band, and was replaced by another guitarist. The band's third album features tracks recorded with both guitarists, but by the time it was released in August 1976, the band had already split. This was confirmed by the absence of single releases and tour dates to promote the album. In 1978, a fourth album was released, which included tracks recorded by both Brian Johnson's lineup and Vic Malcolm's lineup, leading to further confusion regarding the band's history. The original members Hill and Gibson were not involved in this record. In an interview, Dave Ditchburn revealed that the version of Geordie with Vic Malcolm was formed in 1976 and was referred to as Brass Alley 2 due to copyright issues with the name Geordie.
