George Gruntz was a Swiss pianist, composer, arranger, and bandleader, born on June 24, 1932, in Basel, Switzerland. He served as the Musical Director of the Schauspielhaus Zürich from 1970 to 1984. Gruntz passed away on January 10, 2013, in Allschwil, Switzerland.
