George Hamilton IV was an American country musician born on July 19, 1937, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He began his career in the late 1950s as a teen idol before transitioning to pop-country and folk music. Hamilton passed away on September 17, 2014, in Nashville, Tennessee, due to a heart attack.
