George Kerr is a US-American singer, songwriter, and producer, born in 1936 in Ocilla, Georgia, but primarily associated with the New York/New Jersey area. Kerr's musical journey began with his first group, and after serving in the military, he sang lead for another group before signing a songwriting deal with Motown/Jobete. He honed his production skills in Detroit under the guidance of notable figures. After his time at Motown, Kerr returned to New Jersey, where he wrote or produced for various artists, particularly for the roster of a prominent label. He is the father of two children and the brother of another musician.
