George Young, born on July 10, 1937, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is an accomplished American saxophonist, musician, composer, and producer. He is skilled in playing the alto, tenor, soprano, and sopranino saxophones, as well as the clarinet, C flute, alto flute, and various East Indian ethnic flutes. Young was a member of the Saturday Night Live Band from 1991 to 1996 and has also been part of the Manhattan Jazz Quintet and the Manhattan Jazz Orchestra.
