George Young, born on July 10, 1937, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is an accomplished American saxophonist, musician, composer, and producer. In addition to playing various saxophones, he is skilled in C flute and East Indian ethnic flutes. Young was a member of the Saturday Night Live Band from 1991 to 1996, where he played alto, tenor, soprano, and sopranino saxophones, as well as clarinet, flute, alto flute, and piccolo. He is also associated with the Manhattan Jazz Quintet and the Manhattan Jazz Orchestra.
