Georgio Moroder is an Italian musician, composer, arranger, producer, performer, and DJ, born on April 26, 1940, in Ortisei, Bolzano, Italy. Currently residing in Los Angeles, he is a celebrated figure in electronic and disco music, having won 3 Academy Awards, 3 Grammy Awards, and 3 Golden Globes. Moroder is known for founding a label and for his pioneering work in the 1970s, where he invented the Munich Sound, often confused with Italo-Disco. He created iconic releases with notable artists and is now back to DJing out of passion. His mother called him Hansjörg.
